Why automate loading and unloading
Machine tending is repetitive, tiring work. A robot does it the same way every time.
- Steady outputThe same cycle time on every part, every shift.
- More machine hoursRun extra shifts and breaks with the machines you already have.
- People where they countOperators move from loading parts to setup, quality and supervision.
- Safer workNo hands near the machine or heavy parts lifted by hand.
How a tending cell works
The robot and the machine exchange signals, so each knows when the other is ready.
- Raw parts inParts wait in trays, drawers or on a conveyor inside the cell.
- Load the machineWhen the machine is ready, the robot places the raw part in it.
- Machine worksThe robot waits or prepares the next part while the cycle runs.
- Unload and placeThe robot takes out the finished part and puts it in the outfeed.
