6-axis Mitsubishi palletizing system

A complete palletizing cell built around a Mitsubishi Electric robot. Two pallet stations, an intuitive touch panel and a compact footprint make it a fit for almost any end-of-line palletizing job.

Palletizing cell with a 6-axis Mitsubishi robot, infeed conveyor, two pallet stations and safety fencing
Robot in the centre, infeed conveyor at the back, a pallet station on each side.

In operation at a customer site

The robot takes each box from the infeed conveyor and builds the pallet layer by layer, following the pattern set on the touch panel.

  • Two pallet stationsWhile one pallet is being built, the operator swaps the full pallet on the other side. The robot never has to wait.
  • Flexible movementsSix axes go beyond simple XYZ moves, so the cell adapts to your products and patterns.
  • Safe by designFencing, light curtains and emergency stops, developed in collaboration with SICK AG.

What is in the cell

Designed, built and programmed by our team around a Mitsubishi Electric robot.

Robot and controller

1Robot and controller

A 6-axis Mitsubishi Electric robot with its CR760-Q controller: servo amplifiers for each axis, CPU, safety and I/O modules.

Control panel

2Control panel

Powers and controls the robot, gripper, conveyor, pallet stops and every emergency stop. Operated from a GOT2000 touch panel.

Infeed conveyor

3Infeed conveyor

Brings each box to a fixed pick point. An adjustable guide aligns every product the same way, and the belt backs off slightly to keep the next boxes spaced.

Gripper

4Gripper

Forks lift the box while 11 vacuum cups hold it steady for fast moves. Six fork sets fit different products, and the outer cups slide out for larger boxes.

Slip-sheet stand

5Slip-sheet stand

Holds paper separators between layers. Two sensors warn when sheets run low and limit the robot pressing force.

Pallet stops

6Pallet stops

Fixed stops on both sides position each EUR pallet. A sensor on each stop tells the controller when an empty pallet is ready.

Simple to run

Operators work from the touch panel. Projects are saved per product, so changing products takes a few taps.
